ibis Hamburg City

Family rooms include a baby bed and another bed above it for a small child, and there’s a lift. At reception you can get hot water for free, and there’s a microwave for heating food and a coffee vending machine. The location is very central. The bus to hafen city is a 7min walk away, Speicherstadt is easy to reach on foot, and Central station is 8min away. There are lots of restaurants and an Asian grocery store nearby. Breakfast was good on some days and not so good on others. Eggs and croissant were available on only one day, not during the next 2 days of our stay. The room has no AC, and the temperature is controlled centrally. It felt warm to me, and when the windows were closed there was a stale-air smell. With the windows open, noise from screeching train tires or loud sirens was extreme throughout the night. Closing them reduced the noise but made the room too hot and stuffy. There was no hot water kettle, dryer, microwave in the room, or safe, and no ventilation in October.

The location was good, though be careful at night because there are many homeless people in the area. I’m satisfied with my stay and had no major complaints, but the rooms really live up to the budget name: they have only the bare minimum. Next time I think I’ll spend a little more for a more comfortable room.

The rooms were a wonderful size, and reception was helpful. It’s a well-located hotel with good connections to places around Hamburg and good amenities. I’ll definitely stay here again on future visits.

Loved it♥️ The staff were friendly, and the rooms were nice, very clean, and organized, though not very spacious. There’s an open bar at night.
