We paid twice because their payment system didn’t work right. The bill and paperwork both showed payment was complete, but the receptionist was very rude and unhelpful. During our 40-minute stay he told us to leave, accusing us of not paying or cancelling the night, and offered no other way to pay or help sort it out. The WiFi was painfully slow, like 3G, and we couldn’t even make a proper call. Very disappointing. I’d never come back.

The airport is close enough to walk to, though the hotel can also arrange a shuttle. I haven’t tried breakfast yet, but I think it’s served from 4 to 10 AM. I’ve stayed here twice and both visits were great. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel was quiet with the windows shut. Open them and you can hear planes taking off and landing. Staff were friendly and helpful, reception was always available, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. For the price, I’d happily come back. Thanks!

A privately owned hotel with a good breakfast buffet from 4 a.m. Fuhlsbüttel Nord station is a short walk away, about 200 m or 700 ft. The airport is 1.3 km (0.8 mi) away, mostly along a green path. There’s also a shuttle from the next hotel for 5 Euro.

I’d happily go next door to the Marriott for breakfast again. For about €26, the buffet includes coffee, tea, juice and freshly made omelettes, and it stays open until 10:30 a.m. The hotel itself is fine for a night or two, and the bathroom was spotless. Noise can be a problem if you’re a light sleeper, with travelers moving around to catch early flights. Loop earplugs sorted it out for me.

We got in after midnight and couldn’t check in at the hotel we’d originally picked, but the night receptionist here found room for us very late. They went out of their way to help, and the room was really comfortable.
