Hotel Lumen am Hauptbahnhof

I liked the location of Hotel Lumen am Hauptbahnhof, close to public transport and tourist attractions. There are Turkish restaurants and shops all around the area. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet at night because it didn’t face the main street. The stay was generally good.

The rooms were okay and clean, and there are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The station is very close. But getting to reception means climbing 40-50 stairs, and you have to do that all over again every time you go out. That’s a big no for senior citizens. The neighborhood didn’t feel good or safe to me, especially coming back late. The only people I saw on the street were drunkards.

There’s no free parking. The paid parking costs £18 per day and is four streets away from the hotel. You have to climb 40 stairs to get in, but the room itself was really nice and very large, and the staff were friendly.

I should have looked into it more before booking, or paid a bit extra to stay somewhere else. The staff seemed indifferent, and the many stairs at the entrance made it hard to get in. The rooms and the surrounding area weren’t very clean, and I didn’t feel safe in that part of town. My stay didn’t meet expectations.
