The bed was comfortable, if different from the usual ones, and decent for a hotel in this price range. I also liked having a proper handheld shower instead of a waterfall one. But my first stay at a German Premier Inn didn't meet the British standard. The price dropped dramatically the day after I booked, and customer service is only available by phone. They refused to do anything, which felt especially insulting since I think the drop was because we booked before the hotel had formally opened. The TV had no accessible HDMI or other ports. For a multi-night stay, rooms aren't checked unless requested, not even for toilet roll or shower gel. Although it had only opened recently before our visit, the walls already had several black marks and looked as if they hadn't been painted since the change to the Premier Inn brand. I didn't try breakfast, so can't comment.

For two nights in May, the room for two cost just 155 euros without breakfast, so I thought the stay was pleasant for the price. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet apart from some odd banging in the mornings. We were right by the elevators, perhaps because we booked cheaply, but the noise didn't disturb our sleep. Service was the frustrating part. They didn't leave enough coffee bags for the number of days we stayed, and the room wasn't cleaned or restocked during our visit. The room itself was small. The location was fine, quiet, about five minutes on foot from public transport and roughly a half-hour walk from Hamburg's tourist areas.

Breakfast had a strong range of savory food, though I thought the sweet choices were limited. The hotel itself was modern and clean, with tidy, comfortable rooms that felt a little small. It's around 10 minutes from the subway, and I had a great stay.

The only real drawback was parking, charged at a flat €30 per day. Otherwise, the hotel was practical and well equipped. The rooms had what I needed, especially comfortable mattresses and a good bathroom, and the reception staff were friendly. Breakfast was good too. Even though it's centrally located, it was fairly quiet. With the window open, I could hear traffic as well as seagulls.
