Stadthotel Hamburg

The location isn't especially romantic or cute, but it's easy to reach and close to the city center, so it works well. I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised throughout: a good welcome, a clean, modern, nice room, and a good breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay. Thanks.

We paid 240€ for two nights, which felt like a joke. The room was freezing because the heating didn't work, and the TV was out of order. On top of that, the hotel is a construction site right now. Builders started making noise at 8AM, so sleeping past 8-9AM was impossible. They should have told us about the construction when we booked. The room itself was nice and clean, but the service and what we got for the money weren't worth it at all. One of the worst hotels I've stayed at recently. Never coming back.

The rooms were okay and clean, but my stay in summer was uncomfortable because the room got unbearably hot without AC. Opening the windows wasn't an option due to the noise. The receptionist at check-in seemed overwhelmed by the work.

The breakfast felt disappointing for 15€. The reception guy, on the other hand, was really friendly. We had a nice chat, and he offered us coffee. The room was lovely, spacious and cozy, with a huge bathroom, a nice bed and a small sofa. But summer sun made it very, very warm, so you had to sleep with the windows wide open. If you're on the wrong side, the train tracks are only 70 meters away. Trains aren't very frequent, but they're loud, and you'll likely be woken around 6:00 or 6:30. The bathroom ventilation is also very loud and comes on with the light. There's another switch, but it seems useless, perhaps it used to turn the fan on and off separately.
