City Hotel Garni

We left early because there was no reception or cleaner, and the Wi-Fi wasn't secured. The door keys were odd, and we couldn't lock the door from inside, so the room was left unlocked overnight. This might be a reasonable hotel if someone were employed there.

The hotel felt a little odd when we first arrived, and it's clearly very dated, but for one night it was comfortable. Our room was nicely presented, clean and well equipped, with a huge bed. The bathroom was large and very clean too, and the shower got nicely warm. The pillows, unfortunately, were flat and pretty useless. It's right in central Hamelin, with the excellent restaurant Ambrosia across the road. Breakfast was included and reasonable, though we'd have rather gone to one of the bakeries or coffee shops in town. Parking is separate from the hotel, a little hard to find, and costs just a few euros for the night. We tried to reserve a space ahead of time, but the hotel hadn't picked that up. We got a spot more by luck than anything else.

A nice little hotel, and we were pleased with our stay. Breakfast was served right there, though usually you'd have it at the nearby bakery.

Breakfast is arranged through a bakery just a two-minute walk away, and it works really well. The building is old but beautifully renovated. Our room was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed.
