It’s in a quiet spot, and the service was fine, but the campsite itself is just a muddy field. The facilities are old, run-down, and dirty. There’s no internet at all, by mobile data or Wi-Fi, and they only take cash.

The restaurant on site serves fantastic food, and the schnitzel is worth trying. This is a lovely, cozy little campsite surrounded by beautiful nature and great hiking trails. The bathrooms and showers are always clean, and the friendly staff speak English, German, and Dutch. I’d definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Our dog was fascinated by the pet goats, and the staff were lovely. There’s a great taverna across the road, though you do have to cross it to reach the facilities. We loved the relaxed feel and being right by the river, with the freedom to choose our own pitch.

There’s a road and railway nearby, so it can be noisy. Still, it’s a nice spot for trips by bike, canoe, on foot, or by car. The pitches by the Werra are huge, reception staff are very nice, and the restaurant is good. The sanitary facilities are clean and new.

The owners are really friendly and helpful, and it’s a peaceful site beside the river. It’s newly reopened and makes a great base for a stay. Remember it’s cash only, though there’s an ATM in the next village. We’ll be back.
