Design Hotel Wiegand

The staff were fabulous, from reception to serving and cleaning, and the location worked well for us, close to the tram and tube. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and freshly made hot drinks, except for one day when there was no hot food. The room was very clean and had air conditioning, but no safe or fridge, which brought it down to four stars. We had a 'superior double' with just one chair and sitting area. The view looked onto other apartments and a courtyard, and there were no net curtains for daytime privacy. There was nowhere to sit outside the room during the day. We didn't receive the door code until after we had been let in through the intercom to the central office. It came by email, not through the app, and there were no staff around in the afternoons when guests were arriving. I'd call this more of a B&B than a hotel, since it provides a bed and breakfast but no shared sitting area.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was clean with plenty of toiletries. We were given complimentary water and coffee when we arrived. The rooms are perhaps a bit small, but the hotel has a neat, modern design and is not too far from downtown. I was pleasantly surprised, and it was very good value.

The breakfast was really good, and the pancakes even came with maple syrup. No elevator, though. At night, self check-in was easy thanks to clear directions. The rooms were very clean, and the staff were helpful and available over Whatsapp too.

The reception lady was super friendly, and breakfast was good. Parking cost wasn't high, though spaces were limited. The bathrooms had been renovated, and the rooms were clean but small. Getting through the closed gate was confusing because I hadn't received a pin despite checking in online early. Luckily, someone was at reception.
