Hotel Zentrum Hannover

Having parking available was a real help, and the trains and trams are very handy from here. Just be ready for people talking and shouting in the street at 2 a.m. The rooms are clean, though dated, and the beds felt a bit too soft. There's a Persian restaurant downstairs, with plenty of kebab shops nearby.

The room and bathroom had lots of space, and I liked being able to open the window all the way. There’s no air conditioning, and basics like a kettle or glasses aren’t provided. Reception was very pleasant and helpful, though housekeeping tried to get me out at 10:20 even though checkout was allowed until 11.

We had a stressful first night because two people were arguing loudly, and it took over an hour for the police to be notified and the situation to be sorted out. Noise carries throughout the building: you hear people coming and going through the walls, and passing cars and trams through the single-glazed windows. The parquet floor is also very noisy to walk on. The friendly reception staff, clean room, and free bottles of water by the desk were nice. There was a chair, two tables, a wardrobe, and a TV in the room. For the price, the location and facilities are good. The station, city center, restaurants, tram stop, and shopping centers are all within easy walking distance. If noise doesn't bother you, this could work well.

The location is fantastic, and the price is good. The rooms are plain and a little dated, but seemed very clean. Street noise was noticeable, though the much louder problem was a group across the hall: children screaming and adults shouting, with the door left open much of the time. It sounded like there might have been around a dozen people in there. That wasn't the hotel's fault, but the thin walls and doors meant we heard everything. Bring earplugs or use a white noise app. There’s only a small mirror in the bathroom and none in the sleeping area. With two people, both women, trying to get ready at once, that was a real problem. Management could fix it easily by putting a full-length mirror on the back of a door.
