The village was a lovely place to stay, quiet and clean, with plenty of charming buildings. We also got out into the countryside with our dog for some long hikes. One route starts at the lung sanatorium, passes several interesting spots, and ends at the castle ruins above the village. You can lengthen the marked trail to include places like a dam. We usually left the car at the hotel, though there was free parking near the church too. We stayed three nights through ReisenAKTUELL, planning to visit the Kyffhäuser Monument. Our room had a bathroom, fridge, TV, kettle, and small hotplate. The host and staff were friendly, and breakfast was a generous buffet. The food tasted good, but because we booked half-board through ReisenAKTUELL rather than directly, we couldn't choose from the full menu. The options were quite limited: each of the three days there were three versions of schnitzel or pollock. My wife avoids animal products for ethical reasons, so that was difficult for her. I suspect the low prices offered by travel companies leave little for the hotel. Still, I'd recommend the place.

We were welcomed warmly when we dropped in on a whim yesterday, and the menus came quickly. The service was friendly, and both the food and drinks were fine. The bill came to €65 for two adults and a child. We adults would have liked more greens on our plates. Only as we were leaving did we hear that smaller portions were available, which was a shame.

I first came to the Ratskeller 60 years ago as a child with my parents, so I hope my good wishes count! After the change of ownership, it feels like its long sleep has finally ended. I was very comfortable there and hope things go well for them from here on 😊

After a long, hot hike, we stopped in for a cold drink and dessert. Even though it was shortly before closing, the staff welcomed us warmly and were really friendly. We left happy. Highly recommended!

The team made the stay special with their warm, attentive service, and the food was superb. The dining room has a lovely rustic feel, while the rooms are simple but perfectly adequate. Breakfast was good, though a few more kinds of bread and cheese would have been nice. It's a fantastic inn, and I'll definitely come back.
