Denner Hotel

The room was spacious, which was the one good thing, but it hadn’t been cleaned for over a month. There’s a TV, but it’s locked so you can’t use it. The reception is in a different building, and the hotel itself feels dark and strange.

The location is central, handy for restaurants and coffee shops, but you can feel the trams going by. My bed was comfortable, though the fan was noisy enough to make sleeping difficult, and the room was extremely hot with only that fan. I booked a superior room with a view, but the window just faced another building, and there were no curtains, so people there could see into my room. I stayed three nights and they emptied the bin only once. The reception is in another building, and although the receptionists were very kind and helpful, the desk wasn’t open around the clock. I wouldn’t return. It was disappointing.

The room itself was fine, and breakfast at Bayr Hof was okay. But one radiator didn’t work, so it was quite cold. The tram passes so close the bed shakes, and the road, tram and bar two floors below were all horribly noisy.

The room was dark, with another building just 2 meters away, so you could see into people’s apartments and they could see into yours. There’s also a bar or club in the same building, and loud music with heavy bass kept thumping through the room until 3 a.m. You could smell the narguilé smoke from the bar in the hotel. We never saw anyone at reception, and there’s an unlocked door in front of the desk connecting to the bar, so anyone from there can enter the hotel. On top of that, room service left our door wide open. We came back at night and found it completely open. That’s why I’ll never return.
