Hotel Weißer Bock

We stayed three nights and loved the quiet, perfectly placed location. We could set off on fantastic walks along either side of the river right from the front door, then find a lively atmosphere for refreshments at Heumarkt when we got back. The hotel is one of the loveliest I've visited, with charming traditional features and a bathroom that felt shiny and new. We'll certainly return!

The rooms were clean and tidy, and everyone was exceptionally courteous. Breakfast was delicious, with something to suit everyone. Try the eggs, they make them fresh as well 😉. This will be our place to stay next time we're in Heidelberg.

For this price range, I expected much more. The fish was cooked very well, and its sauce was good, but the rest was a disappointing dining experience. The sekt was very basic. The risotto was overcooked, mushy and pretty tasteless. Only the soup appetizer was alright, decently good but far from fantastic. The dessert was catastrophic and made no sense: the apple trifle had a dry, tasteless chocolate biscuit, apple pieces I couldn't recognize, and over-whipped cream with granules. The vanilla ice tasted mostly like plain ice with just a slight vanilla flavor. At half the price, it might pass, though it still wouldn't be something to rejoice over. At this price, it's all quite incomprehensible.

The goose menu was really nice across the board, and the wine pairings were great. Dinner here is always a solid choice.
