The location is very good, and the bathroom was fine. The room, though, was the worst I’ve ever stayed in. I think it was No. 16, and it felt like a utility room turned into a hotel room. There was only a tilt window, with a second door for emergencies, and we couldn’t breathe. The furniture was poor, with details that weren’t acceptable for a hotel room. The space outside the window was full of trash and broken things, like a storage area. We were given a different room from the one we booked through booking.com. When we asked for our reserved room, we were told it wasn’t available. We tried breakfast the first morning, for 8.5 euros per person. There was no juice or water, just filtered coffee, four poor slices of bread that were nothing like good German bread, butter, jam, and two individually wrapped pieces of cheese. Half the fruit was stale and wrinkled. We skipped breakfast there the next morning.

I’ll be coming back for my fourth stay. The room isn’t charming, but the price and location make up for it. It sits comfortably by the Gate Bridge along the Neckar River. The receptionists have been very helpful and friendly, and my mini dachshund costs €15 daily.

Sleep was almost impossible here. The thin, gauzy drapes let in light, and bright lights surround the hotel, so it’s nearly as bright as daytime all night. There’s a lot of noise too. The staff seemed completely indifferent to the problem. Maybe this was my worst hotel stay ever.

Parking is a good 15 minute walk away, and the hotel is above a cafe that isn’t affiliated with it. The location is good, but the rooms are terrible. The Booking.com photos don’t really represent the hotel or the rooms on offer.

The room was clean and bright, with windows looking right out at the river and bridge. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we had a great stay. It beat my expectations.😃
