Free parking was available, though you’re responsible for your own car. The location was good, and for a relatively low budget I’d recommend this hotel. We visited around Christmas in winter, and the owners or their representatives were friendly. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, with the services available except for WiFi. WiFi didn’t reach the upper floors. To get a signal, we had to go downstairs to the ground floor, which was inconvenient. At the time, I also couldn’t get 4G or 5G mobile data there. If you have mobile data, the lack of WiFi may not be such a big problem, but the hotel should provide WiFi if it advertises the service. Breakfast had only a few choices, but it was still good enough. The woman serving breakfast spoke German rather than English, but she was very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a good experience.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, but a hot night made the lack of ventilation a real problem. We only stayed one night, and none of us could get the WiFi to work despite trying for hours. Breakfast was okay, though the waitress looked very upset and was quite rude while we were eating.

The owner made us feel like royalty when I stayed here in 2006. I was there as a guest with Irish piper Michael Egan, and we played music for a festival or celebration at the hotel. I still have wonderful memories of the place: incredible views, great German food, and a beautiful area. The welcome was warm and friendly. I hope I can return someday, and I highly recommend it. Cheers!

The room was clean and had everything we needed, and breakfast was great. Service was good too. There’s a bus stop nearby, making it easy to travel in and out of Heidelberg.

It feels very homely here, with comfortable rooms and great food. The forest is so close you can almost touch it from the bedroom window.
