Goldene Rose

We were blown away by how kind and helpful everyone at Hotel Goldene Rose was. We arrived around noon, well before the 3pm check-in, but they gave us a private place to store our bags. The attendant encouraged me to take my time rearranging things so we could explore comfortably, which was especially thoughtful with our toddler. When we returned, the crib we’d requested online was already in the room. We’re used to having to ask at the desk and wait for someone to bring it up, so that was another lovely surprise. Our top-floor room had everything we needed and was spotless. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked really, really well in the warm weather. They’d left complimentary water, Nespresso pods and tea bags. We knew there was no fridge, but there also wasn’t a coffee machine or water kettle. There were a few hangers in the closet, which was perfect. The location is super convenient, right on a busy, popular historic street in the old city. It took us about 20 minutes to walk from the train station, and it was easy to get around and find whatever we needed. Breakfast was complimentary, and we were absolutely impressed. The spread was beautiful, in a peaceful room. Staff offered several teas and coffee drinks, including fresh cappuccinos, plus fresh juices and still and flat water. There was a buffet, and they offered to make fried or scrambled eggs with or without bacon, as well as fresh omelets. As an American, I’d never had a continental breakfast like this in the States. For the fresh food and service, it was well worth every penny. With our toddler, we never felt like a burden or an inconvenience. Every staff member was incredibly kind and hospitable to our family. I’m so grateful we chose this hotel, and we’d stay here again and again, or visit another location if they had one. Thank you all for making such an amazing impression on us. They deserve a massive raise or bonus.

Right in the town center, with a warm welcome and staff who were ready to help. My simple single room was quiet, very clean, and good for sleeping. Breakfast was amazing, with so many options. I had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it to a friend. You won’t be disappointed.

They kept my bike safely, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was lovely. My room was at the end of the second-floor corridor, facing the street, and I could hear drunks shouting all night even with the windows shut and shutters down. If you’re staying on a weekend night, make sure you don’t get that room.
