Leonardo Hotel Heidelberg

I was here for a conference and had a great time. The staff were friendly and informative every time I spoke with them. Lunch and the coffee breaks were especially beautiful and delicious, and the well kept fitness room was better than I'd expected. Plenty of bus lines into the city leave just minutes away. The whole complex was overheated and we couldn't turn it down. We had to open the windows in our rooms in January, while the conference room windows couldn't be opened. Even so, it was an amazing experience.

When we mentioned the room problems at checkout, a very kind young man waived our parking fee. The stay was satisfactory for the one night we booked, though a broken coffeemaker and a plumbing problem would've been more troublesome if we'd stayed longer. I also wish someone had asked at check-in whether a first-floor room with no lift access was okay. Carrying a suitcase up two flights of stairs wasn't easy for me, and I'd have preferred either a ground floor room or one in the part of the building with a lift.

Good location, and the staff tried their best to help. Parking is limited, the rooms get really hot at night, and the online check-in isn't effective, so don't rely on it. Expect a minimal breakfast and only one dinner choice. There are restaurants nearby that you can drive to. Not sure if it's always like this, but the morning staff were more courteous.

The room was cozy and clean, and the bathroom was too. There was a capsule coffee machine and mineral water in the room. At reception, two carafes of fresh water were available, one with lemons and one with mint leaves, plus hot coffee in the morning. Staff were polite and helpful, and parking felt safe and cost 8 euros a day. I'd come back. The hotel is a three minute walk outside Heidelberg, with a bus ride of about 15 minutes to the city centre. It's a 20 minute walk to Hauptbahnhof, where you can travel anywhere.
