We came in at 2 am without a booking, just needing somewhere to sleep, and were grateful the receptionist found two rooms for the four of us. She spoke German but not English, so it was a bit difficult to communicate, though my dad knew a little German. Even with that challenge, she got me a 'do not disturb' hanger when I asked. The bed was comfortable, the room smelled of wood, and there was enough space for our things. The toilet and faucet worked, but the faucet was very stiff and the toilet seat was loose. There was barely any soap left, and only two towels, which wasn't enough for washing our faces and hands as well as showering. The door lock didn't work, which made me uneasy, and our room didn't come with a hanger like the others. The view was a messy stone area, though I wasn't too bothered since I went straight to sleep. We got to breakfast late, ten minutes before it ended, and the food was already being cleared away. I know we could have arrived earlier, but starting to pack it up at 10:50 felt too soon. I wouldn't make this my first hotel choice, though it was decent enough.

They overbooked, removed my already paid, non-refundable room at reception, and sent me to a one-star hotel for the same price. I had no other way to spend the night, so I was forced to accept. Absolutely unprofessional!

The location near Europa Park is good, and breakfast was okay, though there weren't enough chairs and tables for the guests. It also seemed short-staffed: the receptionist was refilling the buffet and collecting trays herself. Our air conditioning wasn't working at check-in. There was no phone in the room, so we had to go downstairs three times. The receptionist didn't know how to fix it; she reset the system twice without success and said there was no technician available. She first offered us another room, then later said the hotel was full. I spoke to another colleague, who helped us. The toilet was a bit dirty too. I think reception staff should know how to handle guests properly and be friendlier.

The next shift apparently hadn't been told we'd checked in early, so after we'd slept for a few hours they tried to kick us out, thinking we were the previous guests. The place itself felt very old and worn, and the blankets had holes in them.

The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast had a pretty good spread. Check-in and checkout were easy with reception open 24 hours. It's close to the highway, with a gas station and McDonald's nearby that stay open late, pretty much what you'd expect.
