Augustiner Hotel

We couldn’t park at the hotel because the limited spaces were full, and the sauna only runs from 3 to 8 pm, so there’s no chance to use it in the morning or after dinner. For a hotel this nice, I also expected more toiletries than an all-purpose hair, hand, and body wash. Still, we had a very positive stay at the Augustiner Hotel. It’s well placed for hiking and exploring the Vulkaneifel region. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the facilities were in good shape, and breakfast was tasty with enough choice.

The breakfast buffet and packed lunch were both delicious, and I enjoyed dinner at the hotel too. Everyone we met at reception and in the restaurants was warm and welcoming. I stayed here while hiking the Eifelsteig and really enjoyed the luxurious room. I’d absolutely recommend this hotel.

We love the atmosphere and spacious rooms, and this has been a very good hotel for us over many years. A couple of things have become less smooth lately: the front desk is often unattended, which can cause confusion, and our requested daily cleaning didn’t happen on the first day. We had asked for it when booking and reminded them at check-in, so be sure to discuss the details if you need daily service. Also, avoid a room above the rear entrance if you can, since that door slams loudly.

We stayed one night while passing through Germany. The hotel has recently been refurbished and is a lovely place, with helpful, friendly staff and excellent free parking. There’s also a small pool and spa downstairs. Just a heads-up, you may get some looks in the sauna if you keep your swimsuit on.
