Zur neuen Post Landhotel

ZUR NEUEN POST in the village of Herzogsreut, Bavaria, is in a peaceful spot with hiking, cycling, and cross-country skiing trails easy to reach. We spent a wonderful week there on half-board. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, and very clean, and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. We enjoyed the meals all week. Congratulations to the chef, who introduced us to the finer points of Bavarian cooking. Thank you for your talent. And a special thank you to our hostess for her genuine kindness and for thoughtfully translating the menus into French for us. I highly recommend the inn to my fellow French citizens.

Our all-inclusive package was great. The food was superb, the service excellent, and the rooms had everything we could have wanted.

The Wurm family were very welcoming and accommodating during our four-day family holiday on half-board. The inn is peaceful, though we had to do quite a bit of Googling to find things to do nearby. Everything we found was within a 30-minute drive. Our room was tidy and clean, with daily cleaning and fresh towels. There was an outdoor pool with loungers, plus saunas, with an infrared sauna or steam room available each day. They also offered a lounge with drinks and complimentary afternoon cake daily. Breakfast was the one weak spot. It was best to get there early, since the rolls could run out when other guests took plenty with them. Otherwise, Mrs. Wurm really tried to please everyone, and the food changed each day. At breakfast you could choose dinner from three dishes, including a vegetarian option. For half-board, the meals were quite high quality, with things like roast beef with onions, pork knuckle, and sauces with fresh chanterelle mushrooms. There was something for everyone. Soup came first, and the dessert was simple but decent. We can wholeheartedly recommend this country inn 👍

The rooms are furnished with a lot of taste and care, and from the balcony you look straight out at forests and mountains. It's a beautiful, idyllic view. The inn is in Herzogsreut, surrounded by forest and mountains. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The landlady paid close attention to what guests wanted and did her best to provide it, which really stood out. Dinner was always tasty too, a three-course meal of good traditional cooking without anything fancy. I highly recommend eating here. If I lived nearby, I'd come more often. You can have homemade cake with coffee after a sauna or infrared session, or after a short outing. The landlady also offered helpful excursion ideas and explained the routes clearly on a map. Thanks again to the Wurm family for their wonderful hospitality and accommodation. We're already looking forward to staying with them again.
