Center Hotel Drive Inn

The location is good, but there isn't much else to recommend. The rooms disappointed me: no fridge or kettle. You can ask reception to borrow a kettle, though the staff seemed reluctant to lend one. The fabric shower curtain looked questionably clean, and breakfast was incredibly basic.

I booked this for a work trip and arrived at 22:30, but nobody answered the phone. The number's greeting was in German too. Tourists speak English, it's 2025. Never again. Customer service is below zero.

The price is great, and the hotel is close to Bamberg and other places to visit. Even though it's in a shopping center, it was quiet at night because everything was closed, so we slept and rested well. The hotel and guestroom were clean and tidy, the bathroom had the essentials, and the water pressure was good. Getting in was easy, but the guest parking area wasn't marked. There were several problems during our stay. No employee was available at the property, the internet didn't work, and the free breakfast wasn't available because it was closed. With nobody there to take the key, they also had no way to know when we'd left. We never received an emailed invoice explaining the charges.

I booked three nights, but my flight was canceled because of the weather. Just before 8pm that day, I called the hotel and got no answer. The next morning, I told the woman who answered that I'd be checking in late because of the flight delay from Frankfurt. When I arrived at 20:40, I found reception closed from 8pm until 08:00. I called the number on the door 20 times and nobody picked up, so I had to find another hotel for the night. Thank goodness that one had staff there around the clock. What if there were a fire or another major incident? I don't understand how a hotel can have no receptionist or security at night, and I felt people were putting themselves at risk. They refused to refund my money, and Expedia wouldn't help with the refund either. Please don't stay here for your own safety.
