The owners were so helpful, and the rooms were great, with modern fittings and WiFi that worked well. It’s a quiet place in a lovely setting, though you’ll need a car since it’s a bit outside town. Breakfast was very good, especially the fresh eggs, which wouldn’t surprise me if they came warm from the chicken. Thanks for such a lovely stay. I’d definitely come back.

I had a peaceful few days here and was able to relax. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated, and breakfast came with fresh local products prepared with care.

It’s a very unusual place, and probably best suited to tradespeople or anyone who needs real peace and quiet. There aren’t tourist attractions, a bakery, grocery store, or restaurants nearby, though there are two churches. Both restaurants, including Zum Rauschigen Eber, have been closed for a long time. Lake Constance is about a 40-minute drive away. Cell phone reception is weak, and with my contract I couldn’t make calls. The property has plenty of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, goats, and chickens, so families with children who like animals and need a break might feel at home. It can be an affordable stay if you’re okay with a few things: dishes sometimes left out, an unemptied dishwasher, and no room service. You can order breakfast, make your own coffee and eggs, bake rolls, and cook in the shared kitchen. Much of the place is old, the carpets are worn, and the children’s toys in the yard could use a safety check. The overgrown garden is piled with rubble, which is a real shame. Anyone very particular about cleanliness may want to head for the hills.
