Novotel Muenchen City

Early check-in was great, and the location is excellent if you're into cars, with Audi and Porsche showrooms next to the hotel. The room was excellent too. The pillows were a bit small and could've been more comfortable, but I had a great stay.

The breakfast was well organized and served, and the toilet was clean. I was able to check in early thanks to my membership and room availability, so thanks to the Novotel team. The room and bed were comfortable, though I was given two single beds and only enjoyed the stay 50%. One small thing: when I need to work, the room doesn't really have a proper table setup for it.

Clean, modern, and friendly, with comfortable rooms. The U and S Bahn stations are a short walk away, and bakeries, shops, and restaurants are all nearby. I felt safe walking around the area in the evening. I'd definitely stay here again.

I've spent three or four nights a week in hotels in this category for work, so this weekend's stay was a letdown. Online check-in made arrival quick, but we were put in a ground-floor room at the start of a corridor leading to many rooms and, especially, the gym, spa, and pool. People and kids kept passing, talking, and running along it until midnight and from six in the morning. Doors were banging shut constantly, and we couldn't rest. Paying for a weekend away and getting a room like that felt unacceptable. We were there for two nights, so the next morning I explained the issue at reception and asked to change rooms. They understood as soon as I gave our room number, were helpful and apologetic, and worked on a solution. By late afternoon we moved our things to another room in the same category. The stay improved a lot, and we finally got a good night's sleep. For me, the score averages the first night's zero and the second night's eight, with an extra point for customer service. Since they know about the problem with that room, I think they should avoid assigning it unless the hotel is really full. Maybe they could also offer something for the distress, like an upgrade or voucher for the remaining night.
