The guesthouse is right on the Main river bike path, and has a locked garage that works very well for bicycles. The rooms are clean, the location is good, and the price feels right. Herr Kohlmann was kind and accommodating while helping me arrange a surprise 50th birthday for my husband, and even gave us a bottle of wine when we left. He was always twinkling-eyed, a perfect German host. Across the street, Berg Karlsberg is 1 km uphill, a lovely picnic spot where you can enjoy a bottle of Mr. Kohlmann‘s delicious wine.

We felt completely welcome, and the room price was very reasonable. My room was spacious, with a balcony, and the housekeeper was incredibly kind and accommodating. The hotel and wine tavern are tucked away right by the Main River, with thoughtful furnishings and decor. The owners were very friendly too. A few small cosmetic repairs might be needed, which is why I’m giving it four stars. We’ll definitely come back.

We really appreciated the lockable garage with its roller door. Our expensive bikes felt safe there. We stayed in the holiday apartment for a few days of cycling the Main Cycle Path. It had everything we needed, and the hosts were incredibly friendly. The location is lovely, and breakfast was generous and tasty. One downside: the attic bedrooms got very hot. They should consider adding air conditioning.
