Hotel Am Bergpark Neue Drusel

I can't speak to the hotel itself, but I've known the building for decades and I'm glad a restaurant has moved back in. After the full renovation and new furnishings, it feels like a highlight again in and around the Bergpark. At the restaurant, the staff are friendly and pleasant, and they seem competent. The food and drinks are well balanced and reasonably priced. I'd strongly recommend booking, especially as the new beer garden is likely to get busy in summer.

At the wedding, service was lazy and only occasional. We generally had to get our own drinks, and dirty plates sat on the tables for hours. Staff barely interacted with guests, and when we asked if they could clear away trash, they sent us to the bar. The food was mediocre. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it.

The park is right behind the hotel, and you can open the back door to let your dog out without walking along the street. That makes it a great spot for dog owners. Our four-legged friend was welcome in the restaurant too, and dinner was excellent. The room looked recently renovated and was very clean. The young woman who checked us in and served us was friendly and prompt. Definitely recommended.

The hotel is being renovated at the moment, so I can't give a full review of it. We enjoyed our stay very much, and the food was excellent. The hotel's restaurant, "The Hill," is open and serves German food at reasonable prices, with friendly, efficient service. The restrooms were very clean as well. They offer brunch every Sunday for €29.95 per person. We'll definitely come back.
