Hotel Zum Rehberg

The first impression was of a cozy, traditional German hotel, but there was already a bowl of fruit flies at reception. Our attic room was nothing like we expected. It felt like an attic my great-grandmother had died in. The air smelled stale and dry, as if nobody had cleaned or opened a window in years. The photos showed rooms that looked better. There was carpet and fabric everywhere, and the piles of cushions and pillows felt unhygienic. I didn’t want to touch them or even take off my shoes. The tablecloths had stains too. I understand this might be what we paid for, but hygiene really needs attention. When it rained, the room smelled like a sewer, especially the bathroom. Honestly, we’d rather stay dirty than shower or use the towels. We definitely won’t return.
