Hotel Schwert

We didn't stay at the hotel, just ate at the restaurant. The portions were generous and the food very good. The onion soup was delicious, though I would have liked more cheese, and the schnitzel was tasty too. Our waitress was from Romania and did an awesome job. Great service.

I had a good rest after days spent sightseeing. The hotel was surprisingly quiet, and our room was clean, with a shower and toilet. It could use a bit of freshening up, but the owners are a very friendly young couple. There's a TV with lots of channels, including French television, for anyone who cares. The hotel sits right in the heart of Kehl on the main shopping street, surrounded by shops and restaurants. The large restaurant in the entrance hall has a very traditional German style, though it mainly serves Italian dishes. Now and then, the smell from the kitchen downstairs drifted up to the rooms and was a bit disturbing. Apart from that, I can wholeheartedly recommend it and will definitely come back.

For my Strasbourg Christmas trip, this was a nice place to stay for a night. The rooms were nice and the staff welcoming. It's about 20 minutes by tram from downtown Strasbourg and five minutes from Kehl train station.

The waiter was nice and the presentation was cool, and the ice cream was good. The pizza wasn't great, though, and it wasn't quite the difference I expected from trying a hotel restaurant. My mother was sick and vomited all night. I didn't like the meal too much.
