Brauerei & Gasthof Frischeisen

We stopped here on Saturday, 18 September 2021, near the end of an 18-20 km walk. It's around 3 km, or 35 minutes, out of town along the river or road towards Regensburg. You can ignore Google Maps and take the central island strip out of town, then use the pedestrian stairs up to the fairly new-looking Europa Brücke. The place is on the left as you leave town, a decent-sized pale yellow building. We sat outside with about 10-12 other people, some of them locals, I think. Service was a bit slow because the waitress was also looking after everyone indoors and only came out now and then. Our Weissbier and Dunkel were both fine, though neither really stood out. The menu looked appealing and very reasonably priced. I suspect the food was keeping the waitress busy, since there seemed to be a number of diners inside when I went in to use the facilities. The toilets downstairs were immaculate and looked newly refurbished. I paid and asked to take a bottle of Helles away, but after a long wait for it to arrive, we left without it.
