Waldhotel Einstein

A nice hotel!!

The courtyard was such a nice spot to unwind with a drink after being out for the day, and the whole place had a welcoming, family run feel. We had a really lovely stay at Waldhotel Einstein Sauerland. The staff were incredibly friendly and made a special effort with our kids, even making fresh popcorn in the machine for them. They loved it. Our rooms were comfortable and clean, and we’d be very happy to come back.

The breakfast room was clean, tidy, and simple, and breakfast itself was fine. The hostess was attentive and customer friendly. But the two rooms we stayed in felt a bit dated, and the beds, or really the slatted bases and frames, creaked whenever we moved. The old TV screen was tiny, just 25cm. The area is beautiful for motorcycle rides. The restaurant happened to be closed due to unforeseen circumstances, so I can’t comment on the food. Still, I expected more understanding from the owner, since we guests need to eat during our stay. The owner seemed a bit stubborn, and we thought it was very unprofessional that he didn’t say goodbye in the morning. That didn’t help our impression of the hotel. When we got home, we also found the hotel had overcharged us on the bill. Luckily it was an overcharge, but a bill should still be correct. That’s why we’re giving it 2 stars.

We’ve already started looking forward to another visit to Einstein. I just got back from a long weekend at Waldhotel Einstein with Maartje & Erwin, and they were as hospitable as ever. Everything was arranged perfectly, the food was excellent again, and they were always happy to stop for a friendly chat. There were 9 riders in our group, and afterwards I heard nothing but positive comments about Einstein from everyone. Waldhotel Einstein (Erwin & Maartje) gets a huge thumbs up from us. Thanks again for looking after us so well and for your hospitality! Ed (EdjeGS) ;-)
