Great hosts and a lovely spot in the high Black Forest. It was fully equipped, including a sauna and jacuzzi.

A quiet little spot surrounded by nature, and the host is incredibly friendly.

Apartment A on the ground floor was bright, warmly furnished, very clean, and well heated, with plenty of power outlets. The beds were large and comfortable, and the duvets were cozy. The living room sofa was comfy, the smart TV had Prime, YouTube, Netflix and more, and we loved the relaxing, romantic feel of the fireplace. The kitchen had all the basics for cooking, including a dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, filter coffee machine, kettle, microwave, pots and pans. The refrigerator has a small freezer section, though it seems to cool only somewhat, is showing its age, and leaks water underneath. The oven controls are worn too, and their labels are hard to read. In the shower, there's no tray or usual separation, so water can spill into the room if you're not careful. The handover was very well organized thanks to Ms. Komesker's clear instructions. Ms. Trautwein welcomed us personally and was friendly, competent, helpful, and exceptionally warm. Free parking right outside the house was a real plus. There is a nearby bus stop about 500m away. Gasthaus zum Maien, a restaurant we recommend, is just 220m away. In Schönau, 5.4km by car, there's a Rewe supermarket, DM drugstore, and pharmacy. Freiburg, 42km away, offers more extensive shopping. Since there's no kiosk or supermarket close by, bring food and water for the first few days from home or the nearest town. The setting is quiet and idyllic, ideal for hiking, enjoying nature, and getting away from daily life. One morning, though, noise from residents in the other apartments disturbed the peace: conversations carried clearly, car doors were slammed several times, and the iron staircase was loud. That was disruptive when we hoped to sleep in and relax. I hope there's a way to keep the mountain atmosphere peaceful. We had a pleasant stay, and Ms. Trautwein was such a considerate hostess that bringing her a small gift, perhaps a local specialty or something from your hometown, would be a thoughtful gesture. We found the place lovingly furnished and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for seclusion and time to recharge.
