Kommerzhotel Koeln

The room was clean and the service was very good, with the hotel right by the train station. That location also means a lot of traffic noise. My main complaint was the cleaner vacuuming early each morning in our corner room, banging the vacuum into our door and the walls over and over. It was ridiculously loud for about 10 minutes. I understand cleaners may have to work then and respect that, but the way it was done disturbed guests and let the stay down.

The hotel is in a prime spot, just a two-minute walk from Koln Hbf, the central station. Check-in was easy, and the room was nice with good amenities. We stayed two nights and the room was cleaned, but they didn’t replenish the drinking water. The tap water isn’t drinkable.

The location may be convenient, but I wouldn’t go back or recommend it. I paid 530Euros for two nights and the room was below even my small expectations. It was cold with only a little heater, the windows were broken, the water was lukewarm, the towels were paper thin, and it was loud. It felt like a motel or dorm experience, just a little more expensive.

Right beside the central station, this is a good place to spend the night. The room was cozy, the bed comfortable, and they give you two bottles of water for free.
