The apartment itself was very nice, clean, and modern, with a large double bed and a lovely balcony view across the Moselle to the steep vineyards on the opposite bank. We got a warm welcome at the start. But the B53 on the other side of the river is closed until 2026, and all the Moselle Valley traffic goes below the balcony. It was surprisingly noisy. We'd booked through Sunday but left Saturday. The host family was having a spontaneous party with friends and acquaintances on the property, and their guests drank and talked loudly until 1:30 a.m. We sent two messages that night to the host's 24/7 hotline, but nothing changed. The next day, when we complained, the hosts' only response was, "We could have joined them and drunk along!" We were worried the same thing would happen the following evening, so our summer vacation in 2023 ended early for us and our two children. A real shame.

I left my jacket in the wardrobe when I checked out, and the owner mailed it to me without even charging postage. I'm absolutely delighted and can highly recommend this family-run hotel. It's right by the Moselle River, with fantastic views of the water and vineyards.

The Porten-Becker family are incredibly hospitable, and the wine is delicious in a cozy setting. This winery has been our regular spot for a late summer weekend for many years. Highly recommended! 🥂👍
