The rooms are roomy and well equipped, and both the service and quality are at a very high level. The staff are fantastic and will arrange things for you without making a fuss. It's a great choice if all you need is a quiet place to sleep and eat. In Lahr itself, though, there's not much to do beyond the hotel, which is why I took off a star.

The restaurant is a must. The fresh pasta was incredible, full of flavor and cooked just right, and it was easily the best food we've had in Germany. Waldensblick feels like a hidden gem. Our family room was huge, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed. It was lovely and quiet, so we all slept well. The owners and staff made us feel welcome, and breakfast had a huge selection of fresh local food.

The family is so friendly and does its best to meet every request. We really enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. It's peaceful here, with hiking trails nearby, and Cochem is close enough for a day trip.

We spent two full days here hiking and cycling, so there was plenty to do even though the town itself is quiet. Our family of four had a fantastic stay with our one and three year olds, and our little one is already asking to come back. The kids loved the pool, barn playground, toy tractors, and animals. They grow their own vegetables, too. Our family room was thoughtfully designed, with lots of useful details packed in. The service was warm and attentive, and the homemade ice creams were amazing and inventive.

It's a peaceful place to return to after a day out, in a quiet town with few people around. The staff are committed to giving great service, and I'd stay here again. The hotel also makes a handy base for the Geierlay Suspension Bridge, the Erly Castle, and plenty of other tourist spots.
