We were especially fond of the recreation area, with billiards, foosball, a fitness room, a snack bar, and a pool. The pool water was pleasantly warm and very clean. Breakfast also left nothing to be desired. Our dog had a blanket, bowls, and even a treat waiting. We always travel with our dog and rarely get service like that. We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and would love to return!

We spent four wonderful days at this lovely, clean hotel on beautiful Langeoog, from April 30th to May 3rd, 2026. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and guests with dogs are well looked after, with even a dog shower available. There are lots of places to unwind downstairs: a reading room, TV room, children's playroom, games room with foosball, billiards and darts, snack bar, fitness room, clean pool, and infrared sauna. The Finnish sauna is upstairs. Bathrobes are provided in the room, and you can get fresh sauna and pool towels each day at reception. Our room was beautifully furnished, with a kettle, mugs, spoons, tea, and coffee. We could enjoy coffee in bed before heading down to a wonderful breakfast, with fresh food and something for everyone: fruit, muesli, fresh waffles, scrambled eggs, fish, and plenty more. If you can't find something you like, that's your own fault.

We came away feeling completely relaxed, and the breakfast buffet was so extensive that I’d happily recommend it. The hotel has modern rooms and a lovely spa, too. Its location is excellent, and the staff were extremely friendly and competent. A wonderful place to stay on Langeoog. Thank you! :^)

The bathroom was the one drawback for us, since it’s very small. Our room itself was spacious and had a kitchenette. There’s also a sauna, pool, fitness room and playroom for children. The breakfast buffet had plenty of variety and was very good, and the service was great. It’s a beautiful hotel in a good spot, about five minutes from the town center.

We’ve been coming to Langeoog with our family at least twice a year for more than 20 years, and despite the issues, this was still another lovely holiday. We had three rooms at the Upstalsboom Hotel over Easter. The rooms were nice, but with small children I’d expect a kitchen to have a microwave. The spa area is lovely, especially the saunas. The pool looks appealing, but it was as cold as the North Sea, so it’s better for hardy swimmers than anyone looking to relax. Getting sauna towels from reception is odd. If nobody is there, there are no towels and you have to skip the sauna. Other hotels leave them in the sauna area with a basket for used ones, so why not here? Bathrobes are supplied, but no slippers. We were told that was “for hygiene reasons.” Interesting. The Wi-Fi was practically unusable, so we set all our devices to ignore the network. That worked much better. :-) Breakfast was in a nice room, though it got noisy and crowded. We know hotel staffing can be difficult. The cleaning staff only spoke English, but they were friendly and helpful, so that wasn’t an issue. What was awkward was seeing a service employee in the breakfast room look puzzled, hands in his pockets, when an elderly lady asked how to use the coffee machine. The staff training needs another look. The bathroom was definitely too small, as others have said. There was practically no counter space by the sink, and the shower was tiny. They should have dealt with that in the renovation instead of making excuses, as has been mentioned several times here, that the building’s structure wasn’t affected. Anyone who’s built a house knows what to make of that...
