We left without staying after finding the entrance messy and uninviting, almost like a construction site, nothing like the website photos. At arrival, despite confirming twice by email and seeing dogs advertised as welcome, we were met with hostility. The staff member immediately said, “I can’t have this dog here,” then went on at length about all the problems our dog might cause. It was obvious our dog wasn’t as welcome as we’d been told. When we asked about canceling and getting a refund, he hesitated and seemed more worried about losing the payment than helping us. He reluctantly showed us the room while continuing to complain and repeat his concerns. His manner didn’t feel welcoming at all. Thankfully, Hotel.com website helped us get a refund quickly, and we left without further trouble. We can’t recommend Hotel zum Halbmond, especially for people traveling with pets. The hotel should communicate better, understand what hospitality means, and tidy the place up.

Our confirmed room was sold to someone else on arrival day, shortly before check-in. It had been booked through Expedia and guaranteed by credit card, but the owner said he "did not saw that the reservation was there" and didn't offer us another option. The owner, Eleftherios Zacharioudakis, also said he wasn't concerned about getting a bad review over it. I hope this doesn't get flagged as fake. It happened, and the owner admitted it in his response. He has no respect for his guests. One star is already too much for that attitude. Shameful, to say the least.

Modern rooms and a good hotel.

The people were nice, and the service was good.
