Seaside Park Hotel Leipzig

I stayed five nights and had a fantastic time. The room was large, quiet and had a refrigerator, and there were pleasant spots to sit by the window and watch people passing. The hotel is across from the train station and near a street with historic buildings. Best of all, this was the first place where the advertised AC actually worked like the kind you'd expect in an American hotel. I'd choose it again if I return to Leipzig.

The bed was comfortable and I slept very well; the blanket wasn't too warm, either. The rooms are a little old-fashioned but okay, and the windows are well insulated, so outside noise barely came through. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was disappointing: there was a suspicious stain in the shower, black hair all over it, and more hair in the basin. At breakfast, after we'd finished eating, one staff member scolded us for standing by our table and chatting briefly. She seemed to want it cleared immediately and pushed past us with her hip or backside. She was very rude.

The breakfast was very good, and the staff were courteous and friendly. Our room was clean, nice and really quiet. I only wish there had been power outlets on both sides of the bed, since ours had one on just a single side. The central station is right across the street, about 300 yards away.

The rooms were bright, clean and nice, and the staff were friendly. Public transport connections are good, and the downtown location is excellent. Parking right next door costs far too much. For 24 hours, the lot a block farther away is about a quarter of the price. Breakfast was excellent.
