We joined Mr. Scholtes for an evening cellar tour, and he explained how the estate's own wines are made. It was really great, with several delicacies to try. The estate wine No. 5 impressed us, so we ordered it. The Scholtes family has a Pinot Noir aging in the barrel. I didn't get to taste it, but I'm looking forward to when it's bottled and think it could be top-notch. My mother stayed overnight at Scholtes while my wife and I were in Leiwen with our RV and brought her along. She told us the rooms were very clean, liked the breakfast selection, and enjoyed the surrounding area. We also found the couple who run the place very friendly and welcoming. There are great restaurants around the corner, the wines are delicious, and the stay is good value. The boat dock is within walking distance. A very nice spot for a short, fairly priced break on the Moselle.

The guesthouse feels very cozy, with clean rooms and a delicious breakfast. The owner is so friendly and can talk for hours about all sorts of interesting winemaking details. The wines are excellent and not too expensive. 10 out of 10. 😃

We really enjoyed staying here and will return in autumn for the harvest. The rooms were spotless, breakfast was good and plentiful, and the owners were very friendly. The host and winemaker's wines were excellent, and we also loved his cellar tour and tasting, where we could buy the wines directly from the winery at reasonable prices.
