It felt isolated, with nothing worth seeing, doing, or eating within walking distance. I arrived late at night, and the poor lighting made the place a bit spooky. The internet was useless.

The food was brilliant, and the staff were very friendly. Excellent service, highly recommended.

We probably wouldn’t return anytime soon. The meal was tasty, though: the rump steak was tender, the croquettes and fries were good, and the large salad was okay. It wasn’t very varied and had only iceberg lettuce, so there could be more choice. For what we got, the price was acceptable. We went for dinner with four people, including a toddler, and hoped to sit outside because it was warm. We had to move indoors because cigarette smoke from the local regulars collected heavily under the covered outdoor area, making it unpleasant with a toddler. If you don’t mind that smell while eating, you might enjoy sitting there. Inside was comfortable and well air-conditioned. The two servers were friendly, but we waited 20 minutes for a second beer. It only came after we reminded them, and there was no apology. The waiter seemed stressed, although the restaurant was normally busy to not very busy. We’d been told by phone it wasn’t full because some groups had canceled due to the heat. We ordered at 6:15 p.m., and the food arrived at 7:30 p.m., a 75-minute wait that felt far too long given how uncrowded it was. There’s good food at other village pubs in the area too.
