The restaurant serves generous portions of German specialties, and the salad buffet is good, though the prices are on the high side. The rooms are plain but roomy and very good value. Breakfast is a plentiful continental spread, brought to the table. You can hear some traffic from the nearby street, but it barely reaches the rooms at the back. The hotel sits among nature and has a pleasant garden.

We had a really enjoyable meal, and the summer garden was a relaxing spot. The portions are huge. I don't speak enough German to have a proper conversation, but the staff were warm and helpful. Great service, highly recommend.

Breakfast came with the room and was more or less okay, but I was shocked by the 4.4-star average. The room felt dated, with two small beds and wobbly furniture. Paying 171 euros for one night made me feel pretty foolish. Maybe the place is better in summer, but I won't find out.
