Hotel Erbprinz

Although the room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was sensibly arranged, the hotel felt as though it served itself rather than its guests. The bathroom setup seemed like a classic one that was fine twenty years ago and has been maintained since. The bedding wasn't great, though it was okay for one night. What really left a bad taste was the staff's attitude. I left my car key in the room and couldn't get anyone to help: in person, they were indifferent when I asked, and they never answered my email. Whatever they say, we were just customers to them, not guests.

The breakfast was delicious, with plenty to choose from and fresh, still-warm pastries. It was calm in the dining room, and staff regularly refilled the food, cleaned tables, and brushed off chairs for the next guests. That was a real standout. The room was bright, spacious, nicely furnished, and very comfortable, with good pillows, duvets, and mattresses. There was a fridge with complimentary mineral water, and the bathroom had everything I needed, including a radiator that was welcome in the cold. I also liked the yellow patterned bedding and the carpet with its royal emblem. Some of the old furniture was worn, but that didn't bother us. This is a cosy, atmospheric old hotel within walking distance of the castle, and we hadn't realized what a lovely historic town we'd picked as a stop on our road trip. The staff were friendly, parking was free, and I appreciated that there was an elevator in the old building. The value was very good. There was no kettle or coffee maker in the room. No air conditioning either, though in September it was about 22°C outside, and there was a small fan. I'm not sure how much it helped.

Hesham was the highlight for me. He’s tall, always smiling, and made me feel like I was staying with a close friend. Everyone on staff was great and very helpful, and they speak English well. This is the best hotel in Ludwigslust, and from now on I’ll stay here every time.

The breakfast was excellent, and the hotel was great. The bedroom had lots of space and a nice design, but the mattress felt cheap. The bathroom was also good, with a window and strong water pressure, although its fan was really noisy.
