The spot is splendid, right between the Travemünde-Strand railway station and the Travemünde Baltic Sea sand beach. Friday is BBQ day, and it's a nice place to stay, but not a must. The name GRAND HOTEL ATLANTIC promises a big experience, yet around 300 EUR for a room feels significantly overpriced when that money could get you a good 4 star hotel. The service was rather average for the 5 star standards implied by the name. German workers hardly spell "Dienstleistung" correctly these days, perhaps.

10/10
Breakfast was generous, with excellent espresso and a small glass of mango juice as a treat. We watched the sea and ships in the distance as we ate. After all that food, a walk on the beach seemed in order, stepping among the many footprints and dogs' paw marks. Seagulls perched on a pier, probably thinking about their next meal. The hotel has an attractive old-fashioned feel, with a broad wooden staircase, high ceilings, and a grand seafront view. The stairs creak softly as you climb, and a winding corridor leads to a quiet, beautifully furnished room with a spacious bathroom. The swimming pool was empty, with music playing and water splashing against the walls. There are four saunas nearby, to suit different preferences.

The view over the sea from the main restaurant was unforgettable. The location is unbelievably beautiful, and everything was spotless and gleaming. Thanks to everyone for the excellent service. We'll be back. 👍

We enjoyed the excellent Schlemmerfruehstueck and the afternoon tea. Service was polite, friendly, and efficient. Special thanks to Herr Meinck for being patient, understanding what we needed, and helping us.

We chose this place for a special occasion, so the pricey menu was okay. The food and service were excellent, probably the best dinner spot in Travemünde.
