We loved our stay in the downstairs apartment with a terrace, where we spent 7 nights. The setting beside the beautiful Waldhusen forrest was so peaceful, and the price was affordable. The nearby trainline was really quiet, and supermarkets in Kücknitz were within walking distance. The buffet breakfast had everything you could want. The apartment was fully equipped, with the bed on an upper level. There’s no air conditioning, but plenty of windows to open for a breeze on a hot day. We hired E-bikes at Sellmanns bike shop in Kücknitz. Travemünde was 30 minutes away by E-bike, and when cycling to Lübeck, a bus shuttle takes cyclists through the Herren Tunnel free of charge. You can also cycle to the Hemmelsdorfer swimming lakes or Ratekau. I’d highly recommend the place and would definitely return.

The hotel is elegant, and the room was nice and big. Breakfast was fresh, with good service. The railway is very close, but shutting the windows kept it from being a problem.

The spacious, clean room had a large window and a view I really appreciated. I slept comfortably, though I missed having a bidet in the bathroom. The location was quiet, with greenery all around, and I enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, along with the friendly service. I have fond memories of my stay.

As someone who has lived in Lübeck for a long time, I think this is a perfect base for exploring the area in any direction. Everything from Lübeck to the Baltic Sea is easy to reach. We booked Hotel Waldhusen by chance because it was the most convenient option for us, and found a very nice, well-kept place with both rooms and apartments. The garden is beautiful and cared for, and the owners and operators gave us a warm, friendly welcome. It has a peaceful, pleasant feel, and the price is fair. We’d book again anytime and highly recommend it.
