Torhaus

We came back to Torhausgalerie for the fourth time, staying from August 13th to 20th. It was fantastic as always. Rita and Hans from Esens, we’ll be back!

There were four of us staying in the upstairs apartment. We were mostly satisfied, but it didn’t have a balcony, even though the booking information suggested it would. The sloped ceilings in the upstairs bedroom also restrict the space around the beds. If you’re sleeping alone up there, moving one bed into the centre of the small room makes things easier.

We felt right at home. The place was so comfortably furnished and had everything we could need. We got a very warm welcome, and any questions we had later were answered quickly. Simply beautiful, and we’d love to come back.

It’s a beautiful dream house in Lüneburg’s old historic quarter, but the owners live there too and have strict rules that take away from the charm. No loud talking, no walking through the courtyard, and especially no visitors in your holiday apartment unless you’ve announced them. They’ll come up to you straight away, in a way that feels nosy and inappropriate. The couch is very worn, as other people have already mentioned.
