Pension Hessbögel

I almost don’t want to recommend it, in case the apartments get booked too often. But we really did have a lovely little apartment on a stunning property, and the location is fantastic. It’s a great place to stay if you want to explore the Altes Land region.

We spent a comfortable week here. The apartment is clean, roomy, and has a lovely view, with everything we needed. Getting up the steep stairs with luggage was hard, especially for older guests. It was also a pity there wasn’t a contact person or anyone directly available to reach.

The garden has lots of nice spots to sit and unwind, and the sights around the "Altes Land" are easy to get to. We stayed seven days in the "Studio Obsthof," a lovely, newly renovated and well-kept one-room apartment with a view of the Lühe River. It’s the only apartment in its area, with no others above, below, or beside it. The owners were always friendly, and we felt right at home. The entrance is on the ground floor, then a steep open staircase leads up to the first floor. That could be tricky for some of the dogs they welcome. The kitchen has good equipment, though I missed having a range hood. The bathroom has what you need, but a shelf in the shower would’ve been handy. We’d absolutely recommend staying here!

We felt right at home during our seven-day stay. The apartment is furnished with care, and its little kitchen has what you need to make your own meals, even for a week or two. It’s a lovely, peaceful place to relax, with easy access to the sights around the Elbe River.
