Hotel Burg-Stuben

No breakfast, dirty sheets, broken windows and heating, and mold in the bathroom. There wasn't a hairdryer in the room despite the description, and the price was really high. Never again! The Gewölbekelker location has nothing to do with the hotel and is highly recommended. Cheers to the manager.

The room itself was clean, the bed neatly made, and there were towels in the bathroom. But I felt very uncomfortable overall, and can only give this place two stars. When we arrived, nobody was there, and the hotel's phone number was disconnected. We had to call the emergency number on the answering machine, which was already a bad start. The owner showed up a few minutes later and handed over the key. The TV didn't work. The carpet had stains and raised creases that could trip you. The hotel interior looks neglected, with cobwebs, peeling paint in many places, and very old furniture. There was also a lot of junk outside, giving the place a bit of a hoarder's feel. The area is dark, and the streets are narrow. There are a few parking spaces and a gas station nearby, but no breakfast. Key return is anonymous too, you just leave it somewhere. The signs mention that weddings can be held here, though I personally wouldn't recommend that. This might suit people traveling on a tight budget, but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone else.

We booked by phone the day before and the process was quick and easy. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. We were cycling through and stayed one night in this cozy, quiet hotel, and really had nothing to complain about.

What mattered most to me was that the woman was completely happy. The bed was excellent, and the towels were soft and bright white. It was clean, with a nice shower and a bathroom in good condition. The building is old and the carpet could use some attention, but that didn't bother me, especially at such a low price. Thank you.
