The portions were huge, and the outdoor patio was a lovely place to sit. I really enjoyed the meal, especially the wonderful German salad and amazing schnitzel.

The food was excellent and the service was great. I’d highly recommend it.

Quiet place, decent rooms.

The pork cheeks were so tender they practically melted, and everything else we ate was incredibly delicious. We celebrated a birthday here yesterday, and the whole evening felt warm and relaxing. Service was outstanding throughout, and they took care of every special request, even the unusual ones. Such welcoming hosts. Thank you!

We’ve been making the trip from Ingelheim for years, and this typical Mainz restaurant still feels like a place worth holding on to. It has cozy wooden ceilings and tables, friendly staff, and a menu with something for everyone. We usually see a lovely, attentive woman there, no longer in her fifties, who serves quickly and efficiently. It’s worth booking a table. The walls have pictures of Mainz scenes. I’m from the Rhineland and still only partly understand them, but they’re fun to look at and you pick up something new. I like the fresh draft beer, though there’s wine on the list too. At Christmas, Kaiserschmarren for dessert is just right. The half chicken with fries and salad is a classic here and tastes great for €18.90. It’s juicy and well seasoned, with fresh, crispy fries and a generous salad with tomato, cucumber, coleslaw, and other greens. Thanks for keeping this restaurant going!
