The code entry is a bit unforgiving: there are no keys, just a 6-digit code for the front and room doors, and three mistyped attempts mean a one-minute wait. There’s a spot in the hallway to make tea or coffee. It’s an “ok” place for one night, but the setup is bare bones. There’s nowhere to relax in the room apart from the bed. The tiled floors are very cold, though shoes or sandals are provided. Towels are minimal, there’s no shower rug, and the thin walls let you hear the neighbors. At night, the dripping on the metal window boards bothered me enough that I had to sleep with ear plugs.

The room was nice, but the service was chaotic. After one night, we were told to switch rooms with no warning. The manager came in to tell us while we were in the bathroom, even though our “do not disturb” sign was up. We were also made to pay in cash despite the card system working, because “fees are high.” The manager then forgot to come collect the money. Next time I visit Marburg, we’ll look elsewhere if we have a choice.

Everything is automated, so you enter codes at both the front door and your room. The clean, modern rooms are all on the ground floor, and WiFi works fine. There’s no air conditioning, but a large tower fan and shades make the summer heat bearable. Parking is free, and Marburg is a short drive away.

A quiet place, with good help and really good service.

I was really happy with my stay. The room was clean, and the location was peaceful. For Marburg, I don't think you'll find a hotel that's cleaner or better.
