Aparthotel Adagio München City

Getting around was easy, with public transport nearby and the old town and surrounding areas very walkable. The room was modern, in great condition, and had all the listed amenities. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We had an early flight, and they got our room ready ahead of the expected time. We were really grateful after a long day of travel.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the rooms have better-than-average amenities for a European hotel. There's a hot plate, microwave, and a surprisingly large fridge. The main train station is an easy walk away, so getting around Munich is simple. For a longer stay, it's good value, and I'd recommend it if convenient transport and in-room facilities matter to you. The bathroom was clean and worked fine, but the shower enclosure covers only about two thirds of it, so water splashes around whenever you shower. Streaming on the TV was often unusable, with lagging, crashes, and disconnections. Bring a third-party streaming device if you plan to watch things. Laundry is €6 to wash and another €6 to dry, and the machines aren't intuitive, so they can be confusing. The elevator is finicky, stopping at the main floor for no reason on the way to the basement laundry and parking. Its door also reopens for no apparent reason just after closing. Annoying, though minor. By Munich standards, the area isn't especially nice at night, and there are some loud, questionable people on the way to the station. That's not the hotel's fault, but it's good to know.

The team made my stay feel special. Mr. Hassan, the young receptionist, gave me great tips for exploring the city and was so kind and helpful. Jasmine was sweet, friendly, and welcoming, and Maria was lovely and helpful too. It was a pleasure meeting everyone. Adagio is right by Hauptbahnhof and only a short walk from the city center. Breakfast was delicious and had lots of options, including for people with allergies or intolerances. I loved staying here and can absolutely recommend it.

The bed was comfortable, and the room size was fine for one person, though a bit tight for two. The aparthotel is basic and functional, but at this nightly price I expected more. Maintenance problems, unresolved TV issues, and inflexible service left me disappointed. Neither regular channels nor casting and streaming worked on the television. I reported it, but no one fixed it during my stay. Staff offered a Chromecast device, but wanted to hold my ID card or photocopy it as a deposit. I declined because that seemed inconsistent with GDPR principles that personal data collection should be proportionate and limited to what's necessary. Copying identity documents should be limited to cases where a simple inspection can't verify the information, since it risks identity theft. When I explained my concern, the response felt dismissive and no other solution was offered. The hotel had already placed a €200 hold on my card for possible damage or incidental charges, so asking for more security for a basic accessory seemed excessive and unprofessional. The kitchenette lights flickered constantly and couldn't be used, the bathroom lighting was inadequate, and the kitchenette had limited equipment for cooking. The carpet wasn't very clean, and soundproofing was poor.
