Ibis Muenchen City Sued

For what we paid, the tiny room was a huge disappointment. There was nowhere to unpack, and spending four nights in such a cramped space was uncomfortable. The pillows were paper-thin; when we asked for a thicker one, we got another of the same kind. The worst part was how unwelcome we felt when we arrived. We've never had a worse greeting in the Accor group. We chose ibis because we trusted the name and the service we'd experienced in Australia, but we were so let down that I regretted cancelling another booking we'd made on a different site. At the bar, the same woman who checked us in refused to serve me and a room full of other people. She said she had work to do and wouldn't be able to serve anyone for 20 minutes. After 14 hours of travel, I asked if I could just get a bucket of ice so we could head to our room. She still refused, saying she had to finish reception work, though nobody was waiting there and she was just adding up receipts. I complained to the supervisor the next day. She was lovely and apologized for how we'd been treated, explaining that the woman had only worked there for two weeks. I said there should have been at least two people for the number of guests at the restaurant bar. The supervisor said someone had gone home sick. For me, having one person cover both reception and the bar wasn't good enough, especially during Oktoberfest.

We had time between transits, and the staff kindly let us wait in the lounge. We really appreciated that. Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to help during our stay at Ibis München City Süd. The hotel was comfortable and convenient for passing through Munich, with a welcoming atmosphere. I'd recommend it to other travelers.

I found a charge on my account after my stay in Munich that didn't seem justified. Nobody explained it or offered help, and the way it was handled felt extremely unprofessional. Billing needs to be more transparent. I strongly advise against booking here.

The rooms are very basic, and there isn't enough storage for a longer stay. The TV network could use improvement.
