a&o München Hauptbahnhof - Hostel

Finding the hotel rooms was a little confusing because the property has separate hostel and hotel sections. Clearer signs would help. Apart from that, my one-night stay in Munich was lovely. The room looked beautiful, was very clean, and had a spotless bathroom. It was quiet and reasonably priced, and the staff were welcoming and helped me with luggage storage. I’d stay here again if I return to Munich.

The bathroom was the nicest part of the room, though the towels and bedding smelled strongly of bleach. The Wi-Fi was weak, and I had to keep signing in. Breakfast felt far too limited for what it cost, and I was surprised there was no shared kitchen in a hostel. Staff didn’t seem to know much about the area. When broken glass got on my floor, I asked for a broom or vacuum, and one staff member asked if it could wait until tomorrow. It couldn’t, because broken glass is a safety hazard. One staff member was helpful and moved me out of my original room, which was stuffy, smelled of old cigarettes, and wasn’t clean. Without her help, I was thinking of giving up the money I’d paid and moving to a proper hotel. It was tolerable for a night, but I wouldn’t recommend staying longer. I cancelled my plans to come back.

I spent a week in Munich, and a&o Hostel München Hauptbahnhof was a great choice. The staff were nice, and the room was clean. Being close to the city center meant I could walk wherever I wanted. Everything was perfect.

It was easy to get around the city, with public transportation close by. Our room was comfortable, clean, and neatly arranged, and the whole place felt pleasant and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.
