B&B Hotel München-Olympiapark

The hotel is functional, but there's no 24-hour reception and room access depends on a code given at check-in. Ours stopped working in the middle of the night, after reception had closed, and we were locked out for hours. Eventually we spotted a very discreet sign outside the hotel with a phone number to call for a code reset. It's ridiculous that the sign was only outside. It should have been at reception and somewhere visible inside too. We only noticed it by accident, since we were already inside and had no reason to go back out. We called the emergency number, they reset the code, and we got back into our room.

The rooms were fine, but noise outside kept waking me up several times on both nights of my two-night stay. My room faced the front, where guests park, and people were blasting horns, music and voices at 3am without seeming to care. Strange, since this isn't even a central part of the city.

As a young solo traveller with almost no German, I appreciated that the friendly staff spoke English. I've had very pleasant stays here. It's clean, good quality and decent value, in a quiet area with a lovely-food bakery next door. The views aren't great, but local transport is close and there's plenty of parking nearby.

The booking process went well, and I was very happy with the comfortable, quiet room in this lovely new hotel. It was just a long way from Oktoberfest, with not much nearby except a Lidl! Lol
